Most of life is not a big moment.
Not a breakthrough or celebration.
Not a crisis either.
Most of life happens in the quiet middle.
The space between problems and solutions. Between distance and reconnection. Between the hard conversation and whatever comes next.
We don’t really talk much about this part. Frankly, it’s just not that exciting.
And if it isn’t exciting, we get restless. We look for problems to worry about or fix. Or something to escape into.
A new worry.
A new distraction.
Anything to avoid feeling bored.
But what if boredom isn’t the enemy?
What if it’s actually the doorway?
The quiet middle gives us space to see what actually matters.
To hear ourselves again and notice what we’ve been too busy to feel.
Boredom can lead to big ideas, creative sparks, and real rest.
Because when nothing is pulling at us, we finally become present.
Most moments don’t need action. They just need presence.
A slow breath.
A short walk.
A quiet room.
Nothing dramatic or forced. Just steady and patient.
Why not try this today…
Let yourself be bored for 5 minutes. No phone. No noise. No task.
Just sit in a quiet space and notice what pops into your head.
Don’t push the thoughts away or try to ignore them. Just step back and be aware of what things rise up in your head.
You might be surprised by what shows up in the silence.
Even taking just 5 minutes for yourself to do nothing can be surprisingly beneficial and enlightening.
If you try it, feel free to hit reply and let me know how it goes.
Until then, stay warm and keep things simple.
Yours in Simplicity,
Jimmy
